LINK CREW NEWS!District teachers attend Link Crew training to learn strategies for helping students transition to new schools The WEBS and Link Crew Coordinator Training was held April 16-18, 2012 in Washington State at Skamania Lodge. Teachers attended from Walla Walla High School, Garrison Middle School and Pioneer Middle School to learn about the curriculum for training LINK and WEBS student leaders and to help run the programs along with current coordinators in the school district. The Link Program includes a half day orientation held on or before the first day of school for incoming freshmen, a 45 minute lesson for Link Leaders to teach to the Freshman classes, and a social follow up coordinated by Link that takes place either during or after school. The Boomerang Project is the company that runs the Link Program in Santa Cruz, CA. Training sessions are held all over the United States each year in order to create strong programs that will help freshmen and 6th grade students make a positive transition to their new schools.
